The high-performance intercooler was specially developed for the demanding 2.9 liter V6 biturbo engine (VW EA839) of the Audi RS4/RS5 models.
The 2.9L V6 biturbo engine in these models is equipped with an advanced indirect charge air cooling circuit. Unlike conventional systems, the charge air cooling process is not realised by ambient air, but by a separate cooling water circuit. A reduction in the cooling water temperature therefore leads directly to an improved cooling performance of the charge air. This is where the advantages of the Wagner Tuning Upgrade water cooler come into their own.
The newly developed competition racing core of the Wagner Tuning high-performance water cooler increases the radiator volume of the standard water cooler by an impressive 55%. The optimised ratio between the inner and outer cooling surface ensures maximum heat transfer and at the same time guarantees sufficient air flow for adjacent components such as the engine water cooler. In addition, the water coolers are equipped with a thermally conductive anti-corrosion coating that ensures a long-term cooling effect.
